"Going to the Dogs"

I have stayed at this La Quinta on several occassions because it is close to the border and, more importantly, is dog friendly. On my last visit, however, it had really degenerated and that will be my last stay. When we arrived we could not get the door open with our key card and after several trips back and forth to the front desk for different cards the manager opened the door with his master key and declared we should just lock ourselves in. The room was shabby with watermarks on the walls, musty rug, worn furniture - all around depressing. The breakfast is simple and tasty with hard boiled eggs and make-them-yourself waffles to warm up a variety of cold cereals, fruit and yogurt and pastries. There are some very nice La Quintas around but this one had definitely gone to the dogs.
The La Quinta on I35 in Laredo is undergoing renovations. I have only stayed in the older part of the hotel. I am basing my rating on other La Quinta hotels I have stayed at. It was clean and has always had very good internet. If they served bagels instead of bread the breakfasts would be better. You can not hear the traffic noise too much and the pool looks well maintained. It is a fair deal and I continue to stay there on business.
Dirty and disgusting. We needed to stay in Laredo for 3 nights. This non smoking hotel room smelled of cigarette smoke. Both my husband and I kept sneezing due to a dirty air conditioner. Outside lights didn't come on until more than an hour after dark, the room was so dirty it creeped me out. We would have left right away but were just too tired. Left 1st thing in the morning. For an extra $20-25 do yourself a favor and stay somewhere nicer.
Everything was as I expect, last day we went to take a breakfast outside and when we backed to the hotel the housekeeper clean the room and drop a lot of out personal things, she resolved do this because we were not use the non disturb announce in the door. No body in the hotel wants to take responsibility of this. The hotel was cheap and clean, for me is OK, the services +/-, the last incident got angry our family.
older property, could stand some refurbing, rooms adequate, clean. Restaurant nextdoor is handy and open all night. We requested a refrigerator when booking the room, none available when checking in. Adequate accomodations, location good
