A La Quinta traveler |
We have always preferred La Quinta as we have a little dog. We used to travel frequently and had a LaQuinta Members card (no longer have one) for years. In the last few years, deaths in our families and illness of my father have prevented us from travel. We took a week of vacation finally last week. We left Phoenix (where we live now) on 8/17/14. Our first stop was Midland, Texas (tire pressure alert came on in the car). We are from Texas but had never been to Midland. It was late and to our dismay arrived with a flat tire. A new car, so it was disappointing. Then to be charged $169.30 for a room was icing on the cake. We had no idea Odessa/Midland charged such high fees or we would have kept driving - oh wait, we had a flat, couldn't. The room was filthy. Bathroom the worst. The phone did not work (we were using it to call local pizza places for some food) and the clerk brought another phone and it did not work either. She did not even try to help us figure out the problem. The alarm clock was broken. Thank goodness for cell phones, right? We called State Farm for roadside assistance and we were on our way by 9:30am August 18th. As I checked out I told the clerk that I felt the price was really high, especially since the phone didn't work and the bathroom was filthy. She smiled and said "That's too bad." and turned and walked away. We did stay in a La Quinta in Las Cruces, NM on our way back to Arizona and it was a nice experience. We have stayed there dozens of times. I still like LaQuinta as a whole, but have doubts that I want to stay in them exclusively in the future. The Midland expereince was upsestting and unfortunate. Thank you for your time.

Dirty stained carpet, corroded faucets, black grout bathroom tile. low lighting. Parking lot was full of holes, limited electrical outlet access, poor internet connections, tv interruptions were constant. This property should have been on the low budget list for rooms. NO more than $65.00 per night. Definitely not worth $209.00

"My Stay in Midland, TX"

The bathroom was a total disaster. It's an older hotel catering to oil field workers. It was the only hotel in town offering a rate under $200.00 per night. I paid $185.00 for it. I've stayed in LaQuintas before, New Orleans, Atlanta, etc. They were good bargains and clean, attractive

"Very disgusting!!!!!!!!"

DO NOT STAY HERE!!! This was the closest place to stay for a wedding that we attended. A family members AC wasn't working in their home, so we had no choice but to stay in a hotel. Was there for 4 days. Had my elderly father with me too. Tub had pubic hairs in it. Half used products left in the tub. Nvr cleaned, only fixed beds n left clean towels. Entire room was disgusting. Was bitten by a spider all over my legs. Killed a black widow outside my door. Other family members stayed, n their rooms were just as disgusting. Breakfast wasn't too great either. Tables were dirty n the only hot item they had were waffles... Rates r outrageous. NOT WORTH IT!!!

the personnel depending on who you deal with. the room s exterior filthy inside there was a fetid smell of putrified urine the toilet was leaking all the time making it impossible to flush so I had to manually flush with a bucket that I found in the room the tub super dirty and the carpets FILTHY specially under the bed. In the morning there was a "breakfast" which I know you can get a better deal at Macdonalds for 5 bucks. the coffee machine was busted and I tried to make my own, the filter the place the coffee bag was missing and on and on. NOISY drinking parties outside my door and the front desk told me that it was "NORMAL" and they could not relocate to a quiet room..."sorry" when attempting to talk to the manager, she was always "out of the building" etc etc and NOT CHEAP AT ALL. find another place but stay away from this place.
