A La Quinta traveler |
Very courtes, good experience,staff
was helpful calling to see if we needed anything. Located by several restaurants. Good complimentary breakfast.

An average older hotel near the Interstate. Room was clean with friendly staff. While pet friendly there is little pet walk area- had to use property of adjacent hotel. My only gripe is not with the hotel but with the fact that there is almost no choice for an evening meal in this part of Amarillo- a Denny's if you're ok with that- even though there are about six hotels together. The better eating places appear to be on the other side of Amarillo.
Once again two thumbs and one paw up for a pet friendly La Quinta. This was the perfect lodging for pet friendly folks who are budget conscious. This La Quinta was not new but it was well maintained, clean and comfortable.
Very little to criticize so let's go to the good things:

Microwave and refrigerator in good working order.
And Neemo ate the free 72 oz steak at The Big Texan Restaurant (not really).

This La Quinta was not very clean. The carpet was filthy and very stained. It needed a good steam cleaning. The highway noises kept us up most of the night. The night clerk was not very welcoming. He kept complaining about little dogs being far more destructive than big dogs. We have a lttle dog that never causes damage. When I mentioned that our little dog had no teeth, he said that he had heard that one before. We stay at La Quinta Inns because they are pet friendly. We have had some really good stays at other La Quinta Inns, but this is now off the list for us.
Probably the worst LaQuinta we have stayed in. I think it is just old. I agree with Lorna R. It looked a little dirty but think it was just worn out. The mattress was worn out and uncomfortable. We had asked for a roll away for our grandson. It was so bad that we had to take the mattress off and put it on the floor! Even at that the mattress was so worn out it had large worn out holes.
