"Great Hotel for What I Need It For"
Reviewed Sep 14, 2014

I need a hotel that is close to the Massachusetts Insurance Headquarters for a 4 day class so I need a quiet place to study. The hotel is very quiet. It is great to have a Burger King next door in walking distance. My only complaint is that my first night, the cleaning lady didn't clean my room. I ran into her in the hallway before I was leaving for class so she could clean it, she asked if I needed anything.. I said yes, the part of the coffee maker that you put the coffee in was missing. She gave me the plastic piece but now I didn't have any coffee. When I came back at night the room wasn't cleaned. Which isn't a big deal, there wasn't much to clean anyway. The 2nd night she did clean my room but I still didn't get any coffee. I could have always gone downstairs to get free coffee at the continental breakfast but I wanted it after my shower while I was getting ready. My second day there I came back to the room from my class and both of my room keys didn't work. I tried them each like 50 times, then went down to the front desk and waited 5 minutes for someone to help me. I received new room keys that worked for the rest of my stay.
When I checked in on Sunday night there was no "desk clerk" The young girl who was head housekeeper was folding sheets and behind the desk. It is a hotel that has spared every expense. It was dirty and the room was barren. Back in the 60s when I stayed at motels on the road, they had more appeal than this hotel. Bathroom sink wouldn't rain. The pillows were very firm. Breakfast was basically poor at best. It gave you a very creepy feeling being at that hotel.
The only thing that was good was that it was right next to the interstate 495. I am really tired of LQ Inns. From Spider webs to run down hotels and drab plain rooms that belong in the 50s, they really are the worst chain I stay at because Priceline likes them for some reason. If we all boycott LQ they may get the message. When I booked the hotel, I only made it for one night because felt it might be bad. Now I am staying 2 miles down the road at a lower star rated Comfort Inn which has mirrors wall hangings and beautifully modern lamps. It also has a microwave and a fridge, DON'T STAY AT LQ.
First, let me make a request: PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE EVER! If you decide to go after reading my review...good luck with that.
I have never given a review for a hotel on trip advisor so this should show how PASSIONATE I am about warning you all about La Quinta Milford. The moment we got to the desk, the staff seemed hesitant to even say hi (what????). That was weird, but I let it go. We got to the 5th floor and it reeked of cigarette smoke, opened the door to our room and were welcomed with a strong mix of cigarettes and cats. I tried to call and see if there was a non-smoking room but I was told they were sold out (I've worked at a hotel and totally understand how tough it is to be sold out and have someone try to get another room). Front desk came and sprayed the room...at least it was a little effort. She was about to open the window but I had to stop her because there were a ton of spiders in the window and the screen was halfway torn off. The woman saw the screen and didn't bother saying anything about getting it fix. The AC was our only "fresh air" in the stank room but it was completely bashed in( what???). No seriously, like it was destroyed. My sister and I actually made a game of counting all the broken items in the room...it wasn't so fun after a while. The room and bathroom were so grimy that I decided it might not be safe to take a shower. I believe my sister said, and I quote, "this room must have had so many pimps and hoes in here." I was so over-tired and I wanted to sleep (I tried to sleep upright and resisted any urge to actually get between the sheets because I was so grossed out by this room). Eventually I closed my eyes, but was woken up by my sister who wanted to let me know our neighbors were getting their freak on as loudly as possible. I was so fed up with this craphole at this point (keep in mind it was about 8:30 pm and we checked in around 4 pm!) that I was like screw the free breakfast, let's get the hell out of here! We literally grabbed our bags (we never really unpacked...that should have been a sign from the beginning) and went to the desk to check out. The woman who had sprayed out room was still on shift. She asked us if the room was ok but she actually seemed very annoyed with us (what??????). She then proceeded to tell me that I would still be charged for the night even though we were leaving that same day. I seriously did not care and we got the hell out of there. I took a long hot shower and washed away that gross experience...and the smell of smoke and animals as soon as I got home (yes I went back to my house. So much for a simple weekend hotel stay).
I have stayed at many hotels and I'm not kidding, I'm the most easy going chick in the world. I know stuff happens and know no hotel is perfect and I'm totally fine with that, but God help me, this was the most disturbing hotel I have ever been to and we didn't even make it through one night!
I have stayed at many lq hotels in past year this location is a absolute Dirty Hotel no I rephrase it is filthy!!!! I had the top tier apartment. I can just imagine how bad the base line rooms are if this top $ room is this bad. Do not waist your time and money at this location. I am embarrased to constantly recommend lq and i get rooms that are just a bacteria infection away from closing
Stopped on my way to NH to vacation. I like La Quinta because it is pet friendly. It also was close to family and also allowed me to visit the town that I grew up and went to school. It was close enough to where I wanted to be but not in the city or any downtown areas.
