"Terrible Hotel, LQ-Milford, MA; staff OK"
1 of 5 stars Reviewed Apr 16, 2014

We stayed here on and off a couple of different times. Breakfast is same old stuff, EVERYDAY! They never switch it up. A ComfortInn breakfast is better! When we were there, the elevator was not working @ all (several days, they keep saying tomorrow it will be fixed)and not a bit of assistance was offered from Debra B. - she said she could not leave thefront desk, BUT she was seen smoking cigaretttes around back (I noticed this when walk my dog around back). The only 2 helpful individuals @ FRONT DESK were Tom (Irish younger guy with a buzz cut) & an older lady, JoAnna (she is very sweet southern gal). The heavy set gal that works overnite is somewhat lazy. The AGM (Zachary) was not in this time (vacation?). We had a maint.concern and the younger guy with a beard came and fixed the problem with the thermostat blowing hot air out constantly as opposed to being moved. Housekeeping - terrible. Trash in room when we chked in. Bed made-up haphazardly. Never seen any headhousekeeper doing any room checks to make sure everything is up to standard. It seems as if they were more worried about "smoke breaks" & being "called out/off" the nite B4 & how they can screw LQ Mgmt. out of a legal settlement according to Barbara. Asking housekeeping for just about anything seems to put them over the edge. I am like "heck, I am paying your salary"! There was an older lady with Gray hair and a Spanish lady (both seen collecting cans and bottles for redemption) that would be about the only helpful ones. I have seen someone actually give one of these 2 a gradtuity. Washing machine was not working properly for quite some time according to a guy/guest that was seen up there quite often every AM I was there loooking at the window or sitting by the ledge on his cell phone. He said he only washes 2 items @ one time and did not care how much water/electric he wasted as he complained too, to the manager. Claimed their corp. ofc. had to approve every expenditure. He did show me how to use the auto-soap dispenser. But hey, the laundry is free/no coins needed, incuding detergent. I am not sure how this flew with the GM, but there was a "homeless" guy seeking refuse there, using the restroom, helping himself to whatever food he needed @ nite from the kitchen with dirty hands. Once I saw this, I immediately expressed my concerns to the desk (they locked the kitchen), and they claim he/Dan was evicted for non payment of the wkly rate & was an alcoholic. I found him sleeping in his SUV @ nite, drinking.....this is not place U want to take a family my friends. I even found him sleeping on the Sofa chair with a blanket they actually gave him from the front desk!!!!!! I found this comforter the following 2 days wedged between the couch & heater!!!! I can't believe they allow this; I feel as if I am in a homeless shelter and not a hotel! Sad, very sad. There was one AM the windows were open near the laundry area.....it was freezing cold out, and so was inside; there was actually snow building up on the carpet, inside!! I Later found out the guests open it up to help the smell of the illegal Weed/Marijuana that is rampid in the hotel. I have seen Milford PD there quite often, investigating the smell & prostitutes. I am a married man and got solicited by a female gal in the elevator asking if I wanted to go up to the 5th floor and get busy/kinky with her & her friends. Said they were filiming some BDSM & feet fetish videoes & needed one more male for these. I kinda get the feeling staff never checks the halls during their shifts. snow removal was absoluely terrible, i helped a few people get unstuck. I was told their snow blower broke for the season and won't be repaired the rest of the year & they get hit with a bill of like $1K every snow storm for lackluster plowing. I would stay somewheres else, this place is too run down with little to no invention from upper mgmt.

"Meh - Ok but clean!"

This hotel was farther from the New England Sports Center than I expected. Sixteen miles in fact. My 16 yo daughter and I stayed one night and then moved to a property closer to the NESC. The property is nice enough, clean, and a decent breakfast with the infamous waffle baker, but it really should be updated. When we arrived, there was a sign advertising 'weekly rates' and that was a red flag of disappointment for me. The elevator worked fine, but I think smoking is allowed in some rooms because one trip in the elevator it reeked. Shower water pressure was good, the beds comfortable enough, and the thermostat worked fine. Staff were all nice. It looked like a sign was ripped off the wall as soon as I got off the elevator and half-way repaired with packing tape. Not too attractive at all. I probably wouldn't stay there again, and that's too bad because all of the other LaQuintas I've stayed in have been really nice.

"Aweful Experience"

Terrible experience. Elevator broken, insulin dependent mother forced to stay on the third floor (barely made it up). We reserved in advance and should have been given fair warning of this. Mold in the bathroom of room 306. Left a pillow in the room, called before the room was turned down, the day after, and three days after my stay. It should have been recovered the second I called, not thrown away. (Actually a very expensive pillow and case and I'm furious.)

When we checked in the first room the toilet was blocked and there was excessive noise from a refrigeration unit. Moved us to another room, the heat control was not functioning and we couldn't turn off the heat from the unit. Opened window, it was 32 degrees outside and we still could not cool the room down. At 9 pm moved to another room again and it was a handicapped room, beds very low to floor I woke up at 2am and could not get back to sleep. We were offered a room on the 3rd floor but the elevator had been out of service for a few days, due to a lung problem I could not climb stairs with luggage. The desk staff were very nice and did everything possible to help but they could not do much given the state of the hotel. We have not had good experiences with this hotel chain.
