Overall experience was great. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only thing I would have enjoyed, would have been the availability of coffee in the lobby available 24x7, because the room pot just doesn't cut it.
This is the best La Quinta I have stayed in. The cleanest room in the best condition. The carpet wasn't frayed. The shades worked. The air conditioner was quiet and efficient. The bath was well outfitted and not grungy. We stayed on the top floor and it was quiet. Very enjoyable stay. And a relatively safe part of Detroit.
Clean, relatively quiet and comfortable beds. Temperature is thermostatically controlled, which makes keeping an even temp a breeze. Next door to Buddy's Pizza, which is a real plus. Furniture and carpeting are worn and stained and need updating. Breakfast is poor. I would stay again only if I can't find something more modern at a reasonably competitive price, including the price I paid to eat breakfast out.
I stayed there 3/20/13 in between business meetings, arrived late. Greeted very friendly, paperwork was ready to go, was in my room in 5 minutes. Very clean, good breakfast in the am and on my way. Would certainly recommend to others when in area.
Every time I travel to Detroit I always stay at this hotel. I enjoy staying here because it's in a nice location, the rooms are very comfortable, and the staff is friendly. The only problem that I had this time around was that a few channels were saying that it was temporarily unavailable. I gave it until the next morning and still nothing. I contacted the front desk and she let me know that she needed to contact the cable company and that it would be fixed shortly which it was. Other than that my stay was great as usual.
