It's fine, it's a nice neighborhood not too far from the Galleria and easy to get to. But it was a little sketchy and I wouldn't call it an outstanding typical La Quinta experience, maybe a bit below average.

"Really nice hotel"

I was concerned because I had read some bad reviews about this location. But I had nothing to worry about. The room was spotless and the service was excellent. Maybe there have been some improvements since those other reviews were written. I'd definitely stay here again, and I'd recommend this LaQuinta to anyone staying in the area.

"laquinta stay"

I prefer staying at Laquinta hotels when I travel, but this particular one had terrible wifi signal, and I don't like that its on a one way streets. Overall , its a very nice hotel. Its very clean and security is always busy at night checking the parking lot for safety of the vehicles and walking the building and grounds.

On a business trip to Houston I had a reservation at the LaQuinta in Sugar Land. The hotel had a minor fire prior to my arrival and made arrangements for me at this hotel. This included a compensated night for my inconvenience. This LaQuinta needs attention. Common areas are ruff and grungy with an odor. The a/c unit was serviced while out and the furniture was scattered and not returned to its place. The room was not cleaned, bed was not made, dirty towels not picked up and trash not emptied. My room faced away from the freeway but it sounded like I was in the median strip. I left the a/c fan on to drown the noise. I could stay here again but, there are too many other choices!!

"One of the worst La Quintas ever"
2 of 5 stars Reviewed Dec 13, 2013

I got 2 rooms in this hotel thru priceline express deals which promised that this is a 2 star hotel, which I found it not to be. When checking in, the front desk lady Christina asked for the IDs of all adults checking into the 2 rooms. Never had anyone ask me for anything other than the ID of the person in whose name the reservation was. On questioning the purpose Christina said that they need it for security purposes, which was kinda ominous. We had called in advance to have a crib delivered to our room and Christina called someone on the walkie to have them deliver the crib to our room only to have the other person reply 'if I can find it'! There was one rickety old dolly at the front that we used to carry the bags to our room. As we passed the front desk, Christina shouted back to us to bring back the dolly when we were done. When my wife came down to get a crib sheet, Christina suggested to leave the crib sheet when we check out. Great customer service indeed! The room was old. The sofa was disgusting and we never sat down on it. We were wishing that the guy from 'Hotel Impossible' would do a walkthru of the room. It looked old and smelled. The AC was noisy and the filter dusty and the floors dirty (our white socks were dark brown when we took them off after walking in them around the room). The sink wouldn't drain properly. One saving grace in the room was the bed, which was soft and clean. The breakfast was pretty good and the lady in charge kept it well stocked. The decor of that room was very nice. When I was trying to use the dolly again in the morning, it was nowhere to be found. When I asked the lady in front, she said that if it is not upfront it should be in use, which again was great customer service! The front desk was empty most of the time and there was a person in the small room next to it who couldn't be bothered to answer guests. We recently stayed at two other La Quintas and could see that they are trying to upgrade the hotels. If they want to keep up their brand name, they have one of two options - upgrade properties like this which bring down their brands or sell them off and let them become Knights Inns or Super 8s that is what this property definitely is.
