"Hotel great but not very good amenenities"

We checked in July 17, 2014--and this is my review thus far--1) the parking lot is not level for those having a walker or wheelchair and that is very dangerous, 2) no public computers for guests to use, 3) breakfast there wasn't much to offer and not all that great, 4) there are too many step downs--that is dangerous for those with strollers, walkers/wheelchairs. Also the bathroom door doesn't close all the way. All in all I won't be staying here again unless I am desperate.
When we first arrived I was a little concerned about staying in this hotel because; a huge gaping hole in the ceiling of the covered area, the lobby was run down, dirty floors, short staffed. The beds did appear clean. We only needed to stay one night. Left early the next morning, did not stay for breakfast.
It was very apparent that the room had been used for dogs and cats. The carpet was stained and very strong odors masked by air freshener. There were fleas in the room. This was not a good thing for someone that is highly allergic to dogs and cats. I called the front desk and was trying to see if we could move and rudely told me this was a pet friendly hotel and hung up on me. There was no internet service at all. Other issues include black mold on the shower curtain and many other needed repairs. I do not recommend this hotel.
This is a late review, but I'm writing it anyway because it needs to be known. I stayed here for about 3-4 days in the end of August 2013. I checked in with my dog, because the hotel was "pet friendly." First this hotel is not pet friendly, there is no proper place to let your dog use the restroom except for a little patch of grass near the large street intersection. Its not a good place to take any animal, considering it is right next to a busy intersection! After checking in a lady came and spoke to my fiancee about our dog, she was friendly and prompt and needed further information on our pet for instance, the breed and name of our dog and for us to sign a paper. We had a female pit bull terrier puppy, and the lady wrote that down on the paper and pet our dog and left us alone. Needless to say, the next day we had a conflict with the same lady who was refusing to let us stay any longer because our dog was a pit bull even after she had already seen our dog and had us sign the paper earlier the day before. If this was a incident then why wasn't it a incident when she signed us in? We explained this to the woman and she argued and stated other reasons irrelevant to the situation to add extra drama to the current issue. We agreed to leave the hotel and get our money we had paid for a advance 3 days. She argued and stalled and ended up calling the police, claiming we were making an incident in the hotel lobby! There was no end to this lady, she rambled on and on-ignored our attempts to reason with her. We said if it wasn't okay to stay we will leave! People like this need to keep their personal problems and issues away from the workplace. This woman obviously had a problem that was more than "our dog's breed" and it was clear the way she responded when she saw us walking by the desk earlier in the day. This hotel needs to put the more important priorities first. Like keeping the rooms clean and obviously keeping their paperwork in order. Be careful because this hotel will tell you one thing and then change their "policies" the next day!
As we were walking to the room there was a plunger sitting in the hallway. I wasn't sure if the plunger had been used on a sink or a toilet but it should not have been in the hall. It was there for the two days. I should have known that the room would not have been any better. The room had so much dust on the TV, desk & chair that you could see the dust mites & dust bunnies. There were pubic hairs on the bathroom behind our door. You could see a dirty hand print doing down the shower wall and black dirt was falling from the light fixture and vent in the bathroom. The ironing board was broke and when I called down stairs to report it she stated I could come and get one but she couldn't leave the desk since she was alone. When I went to get a new ironing board she told me that housekeeping had already left for the day so there was no one that could come clean the room. I even had to go down stairs to get fresh towels the next day but I had to wait until she washed some first. I asked to speak to the manager and was told he would be in on Saturday. When Saturday arrived and I asked to speak with him I was told that he would not be in. I didn't even get to enjoy my breakfast because I thought if the room looks like this, what does the kitchen look like? People had pets in the building and in the stairwell there were balls of dog or cat poop. There was also some animal urine in the elevator which was why we decided to take the stairs.
