"Couple Aw sh_ts!!! One great hotel ambassador"
Reviewed May 7, 2013
A La Quinta traveler |
Stayed 5 nights - 4 as reserved; arrived 1 night early....room available. Couple poor experiences: charged $70 over initial 4 night confirmation (resolved after too long period); housekeeper threw away business documents staged on dresser.......client newspeaper article; business cards; other papers needed for meeting.......really bad experience!!! Mark Lopez.....desk clerk and many other functions.....was a great ambassador for the hotel.....very customer satisfaction oriented. Hotel was clean; breakfast food just OK; room comfortable, quiet; bath tub did not drain first night took shower in 10" soapy water; sink drain did not seal well making for potential loss of contact lens.....both quickly fixed next day. East entrance initially difficult to locate; a little expensive for average accomodations....nothing above the expected minimum ammenities.
This motel in north of Houston Texas and is far enough away to get out of the major traffic problems but close enough to get where you need to be quickly. The motel was great with a indoor pool and hot tub that the management let us use after hours because of our meetings letting out around 10pm. Rooms were clean and neat with flat screen tv's.
My Grandson was playing in a Basketball Tournament in Humble and my daughter, husband, grandkids and us grandfolks and the team stayed at La Quinta on US 59N. the first thing you notice when driving up is the excellent landscaping with hundreds of different plants, flowers, hedges. A little oasis among the concrete jungle. The rooms were big, clean, with excellent sound proofing (even for a bunch of 16 year old basketball players). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and the kids loved the huge indoor swimming pool. You can't beat this hotel.
I would recommend this hotel to everybody I know. The management is the best that I have ever seen in the hospitality business. Great service, comfortable room, great pool, great breakfast, great PEOPLE!!!
We traveled to Houston to visit relatives and attend an auction in Houston. The hotel is convenient to Highway 59. It is clean and well appointed. They offer a full breakfast (eggs, waffles, cereal, yogurt, toast). The staff is very friendly and accommodating. If you run (or walk your dog), the hotel faces highway 59 and an access road that you want to avoid for walking or jogging. The back of the hotel, however, backs up to a road that, during our weekend visit, had little traffic leading to a park and office complex. allowing you to safely jog, run, or walk your dog. Travel note. The access road at the front of the hotel is one-way heading North so, if you're traveling South on Hwy 59, you won't be able to exit Hwy 59 at Kingwood Dr and head South on the access road. Our GPS directed us to continue South on HWY 59 to McClellan road and make a "u" turn on the access road that is one-way North only. You could also exit at Kingwood Drive and then head south on 494 and cut across to the hotel.
