This was an all around good hotel. The staff was very helpful and nice. The breakfast was excellent and the location was perfect. Close to downtown. Nice marina view. Good restaurants nearby. The breakfast room was nicely light and airy. The rooms were comfortable. The TV and cable hookup were good as was the high speed internet. All in all we would stay here again.
We chose this hotel because of it's proximity to downtown and the price. We were very pleased. We were just over the bridge to downtown Charleston, close to attractions, parking and restaurants. The hotel offered round trip transportation into town for $8 each but we chose to drive and park in a garage - $10 for the day. The room in the hotel as nice and the breakfast was good. The only issue we had was that there was a barking dog in our hallway. It was my fault for not checking to see if pets were allowed. Otherwise, it was a great place at a great price.
We had stayed at this location in December and it was better then. The hotel was packed when we were there in May and had booked a Wednesday and Thursday night. We asked for a price for staying Friday night and it was double what we paid for Thursday so we went to another hotel. The location is good for getting to downtown and Folly beach.
Little customer service and no one was smiling. The employee in charge of the breakfast was wearing a dirty stained apron and was not the lest bit friendly. Other employees came in and starting filling travel mugs with OJ and coffee.
In the room the door handle on the inside fell off and the tub faucet handle also fell off.
We spent 5 nights here. This place is a fantastic value, MUCH less expensive than the downtown hotels. The beds are very comfortable, pillows are pretty good. Breakfast is quite serviceable and included with your stay. Parking is free!. It is a simple matter to drive into the city, but we only did that once, as the shuttles are $16 round trip per person and parking downtown is dicey at the best. You can use the free shuttles and walking to go where you want. The only negative is that at times the shuttles can occasionally be unreliable. Be sure to call ahead and let them know where you will be (there are 2 pick-up locations) and when (every 2 hours from 10AM-8PM). The staff people are very nice here.
We needed a place to stay close to downtown that would allow us to have our dogs in the room and La Quinta fit the bill! Nice clean rooms, nice view of the harbor, and awesome location! We would definitely stay here again. Great for the money especially if you have pets.
