The location is a little noisy with a lot of freeway noise. I am not sure if the back side of the hotel is quieter but the express is enough to disrupt sleep. Keep the air on and it does drown out the noise and you can get a good rest. I am going to keep on about the location.
With my GPS it was easy to get to the hotel from the airport but taking short trips to Wendy's or Walgreens turned out to be an adventure. The street flow around the hotel is a little odd or it could be Boston.
Morning breakfast with the graduation crowd was a little busy but up to La Quinta standards. Waffles you make, bagels, cofee, OJ, HB eggs, etc. Good enough to get you going.
Room was comfortable enough, clean and spacious. Not a luxury hotel but suitable for a quick visit.
I am not sure I would go to the mall accross the street and there was some kind of police incident in the parking lot while we were there. I would check the discount travel sites to name your price if I was staying again. 2 weeks later I found a room at half the price a little farther away but very comfortable.
I was on business and Priceline put me there. If I had a car that could have been OK, but I was meeting somebody two days later and he had the car.
Good:

- all-round nice hotel
Bad
- no car ... there is NOTHING close
- no shuttle to airport $30 cab fair
Ever investigate room rates in downtown Boston? Did the rates make you think twice about visiting the Hub? If so, there is relief just a few miles up 93, in the form of the La Quinta Inn & Suites Boston Somerville. It's conveniently located just off the highway, the parking's free and abundant, it's clean, and it's comparatively cheap: around half the cost of most downtown places. Ask for a room facing away from the highway. Our 7th-floor room had a pleasant view of town, with lots of green space in the mix. La Quinta Inn & Suites Boston Somerville. Try it. There's lots of reasons to like it.
The staff was nice and the place was clean. That's about it (and the reason I am rating it as average and not poor). The rooms were so small that if someone was sitting at the desk, you couldn't walk by. The beds were hard and so were the pillows. The soda machine in the lobby wasn't stocked... unless you count the few cans of Mountain Dew. Breakfast had limited items and the room was so small (a recurring theme) that you couldn't walk between the tables without bumping into them. The coffee was watered down. The worst thing about the place was the water pressure in the toilet. The only way it would flush completely was to hold the handle down until all the water flushed out. I was surprised when the maintenance man told me this, but it worked. Staring at swirling water (and other stuff) in the toilet isn't exactly my idea of a good time, but it's better than watching the water rise wondering if its going to flow over the bowl.
Easy in and out of hotel. Love the automatic doors to parking area. Liked the nice friendly staff. Traveled with my 9 yr old chocolate lab. Proximity to downtown and north shore is great. Will now visit more often because of the ease of staying here.
