Great place to stay for UCF graduation, location is perfect, but be aware that not all rooms have refrigerators or microwaves so if you need one, ask. They don't change the sheets or clean the rooms every day so if you need towels or you want serivce you have to ask. but once you do they are very accomodating.

An online description of "newly renovated" from the AAA website is very misleading. Instead, it had all the telltale signs of a hotel in great need of updating?worn and stained hallway and room carpets, malfunctioning A/C?s (mine as well as several other guests), previous smoking room odor attempted to be covered up by carpet fresheners, chipped tiles in the bathroom, sheets with holes, very low water pressure and a non-draining bathtub. Based on free breakfasts I have experienced at other hotel chains, theirs was mediocre at best. I have been visiting the UCF area for 8 years, having two sons attending UCF. I have never stayed at this LaQuinta as I have been happy with other hotels in the area. However, I decided to give them a try as it is the closest hotel to UCF with easy back road access to the campus without having to drive on Alafaya. Unfortunately, my stay was less than comfortable and I will not be staying there on future trips to the area.

Six months ago I wrote a stellar review about this hotel, which i had stayed at numerous times each year over the past 5 years. My most recent stay however was extremely disappointing. I booked 2 rooms for family to attend a UCF award ceremony in early April. First of all, the front desk staff looked like they had slept in their clothes. At check in, I signed in but was not given my keys or any explanation of meal time which I had to request. My room was not ready and it was after the 5pm check in time. I asked that my second room be located on a upper floor that usually does not house pets. My room was on the second floor and I had a small dog. Carpet on the stairs was very dirty. My room's bathroom door had a hole punched in it. Carpet in the room had not been cleaned. My family called me at midnight to say a dog had been barking in the room next door to theirs for over an hour. They called the front desk and the room was comp. by the manager as it appeared that someone checked in and gone out and did not report they had a pet. Two hours later the pet owner finally returned. At breakfast, the food area was poorly maintained. Food spills were not cleaned up and garbage was spilling out of trash cans. A patron reported this to the front desk. Staff walked over and looked at it but nothing changed. The side entrance to the building was dirty with trash overflowing. I had recommended this hotel highly to my family for many years and was mortified by the poor maintenance and service. Maybe the management has changed. I did write to the hotel after my stay about the above and received a very standard response. As a result I cancelled my next reservation and will find other accommodations in the area in the future.

Walking in to the hotel for check in, there was a line of people and no clerk. We waited 10 min. for service before she showed up. The carpeting was dirty and the sink in my room was propped up so it would drain, went to take a shower and there was a used soap left from the previous guest. The only redeeming factor of this stay was a very nice breakfast buffet.
