"Great hotel"

My husband and I stayed here 2 nights. We had a king room with a microwave and fridge. It had a sofa and 2 chairs. I was pleasantly surprised at how large it was. The bed was firm and had nice bedding. The elevator came very quickly. We never waited more than 30 seconds for it. We didn't eat the breakfast so I can't comment on that. The front desk clerks were very friendly and helpful with directions. The price was much lower than the Hyatt Place where we've previously stayed. We will definitely stay here again.

"Dirty Rooms"

We checked in to our room and I requested a crib when we called to make our reservation. I called the hotel directly and the person said she would hold one for us. When I checked in the desk attendant informed me that they didn't even carry cribs??!! So we went to our room. The sink was dirty with dry toothpaste in it and all over the faucet like the room hadn't even been cleaned. We requested to move and they only had a king with a pull out couch. So we moved to that room, which was even dirtier than the first. There was hair in the shower and the pull out couch had stains all over the cushions. It smelled horrible! But we stayed anyways because after driving for 8+ hrs with 2 small children and 2 dogs we were too exhausted. Otherwise, I would have left right then and moved to a hotel down the road. I slept in the king with one of my children and the comforter on it wasn't even big enough to cover the entire bed. It was like they put a full comforter on a king bed??!! The overall stay was a HUGE disappointment. I felt like I needed to shower again as soon as we left to get the smell and the dirty off! I would never stay here again!

"Nice service, good location ..."

This goes into the "you get what you pay for" bucket. We've stayed here many times as we attend the Western and Southern Open tennis tournament every year. We love that all La Quintas are pet friendly and that's an important factor as we travel with our very well behaved pugs, but am sure that other dog owners do not have such good pets! We are always greeted with a smile and good attitude. For some reason our reservation was lost via corporate but they quickly resolved the issue. Beware non smokers; Ohio still has a large amount of smokers, so make sure you request a non smoking room...we are still airing out our belongings on our deck here!

"Better than others had reviewed it"

I won free nights in an LQ contest so we stayed here overnight with two rooms to be near Kings Island. I was worried after reading a few bad reviews about the place, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's not fancy, but our two rooms were comfortable and nice and as clean as most hotels I've stayed at. The only things I found were some popcorn and a bottle cap under the arm chair in our king room. I would rather they were more careful about vacuuming, but I reported it and the rest of the room was bright and clean. Face it, these chain hotels get lots of traffic and they aren't going to reupolster chairs or steam the carpet after every visitor. Our rooms were fine. Beds were comfortable (and so was that armchair -- I was sick with bronchitis and slept upright in it all night!) Shower had plenty of water pressure. It was just what we expected and better. I can't comment on the breakfast. We chose to go out for a fuller breakfast elsewhere. It was a nice distance from Kings Island, very easy to get to another exit or so up the freeway. We would definitely consider this location again if we came back down to Kings Island.

"Very pleasantly surprised"

Stayed here on August 6, 2014 because I got an amazing online deal so my expectations were low but I was super surprised. It was me and two 9 year olds. Here are the pros and cons: Pros: *Super location (close to 71, LOTS of food nearby and good neighborhood) *Staff was very friendly and helpful * Pretty good breakfast (waffles, cereal, juice, bagels, muffins-no protein) * Rooms were very clean and our room (110) was obviously updated in the last year or so * Pool was very convenient, warm and clean (but small) Cons: *Beds were pretty hard - 9 year olds even noticed. Didn't bother me when I slept though * Our room was right beside the staff entrance to the front desk. The door slamming could be heard over my white noise machine
