Super friendly front desk. Room was comfortable, but felt a bit dirty. Bathroom was in desperate need of a renovation. Beds weren't all that comfy, but for our rate it was worth the one night stay. Location is off a major road...took forever to get just a few miles. Plenty of restaurants and shopping center in the area.
I arrived with my three year old and he was very tired as it was past his usual naptime. There was a customer ahead of us so we had to wait a bit and I commented a few times to my son that it wouldn't be too much longer before I could get him into bed for a nap. After I got checked in we brought in our luggage and within minutes he was asleep. Less than an hour within checking in we are rudely awoken by the telephone. The front desk was wondering how everything was! Are you kidding me? Don't you think if I had a problem you would have already heard from me? I understand you wanting to be customer service oriented but this is overkill. Breakfast was okay...I am used to the LQ's that have the batter for fresh waffles so toaster waffles area disappointment.
Fast forward to 0530 and was again rudely awoken, but this time it was the alarm clock in the room. Sigh. I don't know if this is a complaint to the hotel but I will know from now on to unplug phones and clocks when arriving. At check out, no one was at the front desk so after a few minutes I just left my key with a note of which room number it was. A few days later I see that my bill was $11 more than my online reservation amount so had to call to get this refunded.
Clean rooms, friendly and courteous staff. Great location to all restaurants,shopping, and other attractions. The breakfast is surely continental, but it is a light snack until you get up and about your day.
Despite a room rate of only $59.00, this property is hard to beat for clenliness, comfort, security and especially the wonderful staff! Room was very well furnished, with the best work desk of any hotel I've stayed in recently (well lit, loads of space, lots of plugs and connections). Wide variety of restaurants and fast food places within walking distance make this an even better location! I'll definitely stay here again when in Birmingham.
They except pets which is a must for our family. The rooms did not smell like some hotels that allow pets. The service was great and everyone was very nice. The breakfast was good for a free breakfast. The hotel was very busy and they kept up rather nicely. The location looks kind of sketchy but it wasn't at all. Felt safe, I also had a little trouble with my door and the housekeeper stopped and helped me and I didn't even have to ask. The sheets and room was very clean.
