Booked a non smoking room in this hotel on 5/13 for the weekend of 5/18.
I arrived there and first thing I noticed was that the front desk clerk was very rude, told me that I can only have a smoking room and denied me my refund. I left went and booked in Red Roof inn across that is a smoke free environment and the staff and hotel were fabulous and welcoming. I went for La Quinta inn because of reviews but the place smells like smoke in the hall ways and they were very disrespectful.
this was my first time here, but will definitely come back if I'm in the area again. The check in was easy; the room was clean and well maintained; free breakfast was the usual hot continental offerings. There are a few restaurants within walking distance, and it is located in an easy to reach location from the interstate.
I have stayed at this La Quinta twice for business travel. It offers a good location near the highway with comfortable beds and clean rooms. This is a good choice for a budget minded traveler... expect to pay about 70 to 85 dollars per night. What I am most impressed about this hotel is the staff, they are very friendly and helpful.... I have arrived late on both my stays and the gentleman at the front desk has proven to be helpful both times.
Meals: very basic, coffee and cereals for breakfast... there is a Denny's within walking distance if you are looking something more. Also an Outback Steakhouse and two gas stations are also near.
A "a good no frills choice" in the Independence area.
Nice renovated LaQ. The location is ideal with a full range of eating and going out options within walking distance. I believe this used to be a wellsley so is build out of wood not concrete so the rooms are a bit noisy...unless you get the top floor.
Nice place to stay and I spoke to another weekly business traveler who stays there every week. LaQ also has the best loyalty program in terms of speed to free nights and ease of using those nights.
I stay here quite often for business. There are plenty of dining and drinking places within walking distance or a short drive. The staff are friendly and very helpful. The free breakfast is decent, Hard boiled eggs waffles bread yoghourt fresh fruit cereal oatmeal.
